Position Summary: * Maintain patient rooms, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the hospital in a clean and orderly manner by performing various housekeeping tasks Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards. 2. Dust furniture, woodwork, equipment and dust mops floors. Polish and clean fixtures in utility rooms and bathrooms. 3. Operate mechanical floor cleaners, polishers and vacuums. 4. Wet mop rooms, halls, stairways and public areas. 5. Shampoo rugs and furniture, clean vents, fans and other equipment using vacuum machines. 6. Clean fixtures, tops or windows, door frames and high areas using a ladder. 7. Gather and dispose of trash and waste material. 8. Move furniture and other heavy objects as required. 9. Buff, strip, wax and polish floors. 10. Perform terminal cleaning procedures of patient rooms and prepares room for new occupant; follow isolation procedures in isolation rooms. 11. Clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms 12. Participate in educational programs and in-service meetings. 13. Attend meetings as required. 14. Assist Housekeeping Supervisor in inventory control, collection, distribution, recording, quality checks and any other task related to hospital linens.
