AI OCR and Image Processing Software Engineer

Job Overview Blue Ocean Data Solutions is seeking a highly skilled AI OCR and Image Processing Software Engineer to develop and optimize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and image processing solutions. The ideal candidate will work on extracting meaningful data from scanned documents, engineering drawings, invoices, and images, using deep learning and computer vision techniques. Key Responsibilities • Develop, train, and optimize OCR models for extracting text and dimensions from various document types, including engineering drawings and invoices. • Design and implement image pre-processing techniques (e.g., noise reduction, binarization, skew correction, segmentation) to enhance OCR accuracy. • Utilize deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to develop AI-based text recognition and object detection models. • Work with OpenCV, Tesseract OCR, and other image processing libraries to improve document analysis capabilities. • Implement AI-based table extraction, handwriting recognition, and text layout analysis. • Fine-tune OCR models to handle different fonts, languages, and complex document structures. • Optimize inference speed and accuracy for real-time and batch processing of large datasets. • Develop APIs and integrate OCR solutions into enterprise software systems. • Conduct performance evaluations and continuously improve model accuracy and efficiency. • Stay up to date with the latest research and advancements in AI, OCR, and computer vision. Qualifications & Skills Required: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. • Strong experience in AI-based OCR, image processing, and document analysis. • Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. • Hands-on experience with OpenCV, Tesseract OCR, or similar libraries. • Knowledge of computer vision techniques such as image segmentation, object detection, and feature extraction. • Experience in deploying and optimizing AI models for real-world applications. • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and edge computing for OCR processing. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team. Preferred: • Experience with domain-specific OCR (e.g., invoice processing, ID card recognition, engineering drawings). • Knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP) for document structuring and post-processing. • Familiarity with GPU acceleration (CUDA, TensorRT) for optimizing inference performance. • Experience with databases (SQL, NoSQL) for storing extracted OCR data.
