Roles Perform routine daily analysis, monitoring and round checks for all designated areas to ensure all plant equipment/analyzers are in good working order and comply with all statutory legal regulatory and legislation requirements enforced in Malaysia such as Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994, Employment Act and etc. Responsibilities and Duties 1. Plant Maintenance/Operations a. Perform assigned routine or non-routine task (analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and etc.). b. Supports laboratory staff by maintaining lab ware; maintaining logs and record books; troubleshooting and resolving problems. c. Keeps laboratory supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. d. Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books. e. Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data; selecting corrective steps. f. Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs. g. Comply with all safety, health, environmental, and Quality Management System requirements, policies, and procedures relevant to the position. h. Ensure all safety procedures are followed, proper tools are used, Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) are used and methods of handling of works are adhered. i. Provide technical assistance and technical feedbacks (inclusive of initial troubleshooting within their capability) for effective maintenance and operational planning and plant improvement to immediate superior. j. Assist in preparing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instruction (WI). k. Log all routine works into spreadsheet and prepare simple report to immediate superior. l. Cooperate with other department for troubleshooting purposes 2. Defect management a. Ensure all plant equipment and analyser are in good working order and maintain in efficient manner at all times. b. Assist Supervisor in reporting any defect and abnormality to Unit Engineer/Unit Operator for rectification by relevant Maintenance Section. 3. Other Ad-Hoc Assignments a. Standby and work outside office hour or during emergency cases (on-call basis). b. Perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish company overall objective, which may be assigned from time to time including activities in absent of Chemical & Environment Services (“CES”) engineer or technician. 4. Comply with all applicable SHEQ legal requirements and our stakeholders’ specifications by establishing policies, programmes and practices in order to conduct operations in a healthy, safe and environmentally sound manner with safety first, quality foremost & pursuing excellence. 5. To perform other additional tasks that are relevant and necessary to accomplish the company overall objectives, which may be assigned from time to time. Qualification and Competency (License) 1. Minimum Education Qualification required: a) Diploma in Chemical/Science or equivalent from accredited university, college or polytechnic 2. Minimum Mandatory Competency (License) required: a) Authorised Entrant and Standby Person (AESP) 3. Minimum Optional requirement by DOE or added advantage: a) Certified Environmental Person Bag Filter Operation (CePBFO) Work Experience 1. Minimum years of working experience related to the work scope: a) 1 to 2 years working experience in laboratory or any related fields 2. Work experiences required: a) Experience in laboratory environment, equipment, analysers and plant works. b) Knowledgeable in Chemistry, Science Material and Water Analysis
