• Accurate results provided on time with high success rates of QC samples. • Provide the testing results within due date requested by client. • Maximize daily efficiencies. • Minimize the numbers of amended batches due to incorrect results reported. • Minimize wastage of consumables and reagents. • Avoid holding time breaches. The Junior Chemist is responsible for: • Ensuring that analytical procedures and associated tasks responsible for are conducted in accordance with the ALS Quality Work Instructions including QA/QC. • Preparing standard and reagents required for daily operation and ensuring all logbooks for calibration and verification are updated. • Competence in the operation and maintenance of advanced equipment or instruments used in the section. • Conducting scheduled in-house instrument maintenance and troubleshooting of instrument issues. • Ensuring samples are analysed within holding times or highlight the situation when this is not possible. • Ensuring that client turnaround times are met. • Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type and sample behaviour to the Section Supervisor. • Identifying and instigating repeats on samples showing anomalous results. • Reporting results of major analytical procedures. • Ensuring appropriate comments are made in association with any anomalous results, samples, QC, holding time or preservation breaches. • Performing required housekeeping duties. • Controlling consumable stock required for the performance of tests and ensuring excess stock is not maintained. • To ensure only calibrated equipment is used and instrument maintenance is up to date. • Any other duties specified by Section Manager • Involve in R&D for new method related to LCMS, LCMSMS and HPLC Instrumentation
