Manual Tester

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Manual Tester with experience in cards services (Visa/Mastercard) and a strong background in the banking domain. The candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in functional and manual testing. The role requires on-site work and collaboration with multiple internal and external stakeholders. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Testing and Support: • Collaborate closely with business, application development, technical, and operations teams, as well as external vendors and financial institutions. • Design and develop test conditions, test cases, and expected results based on requirements, functional and design specifications, and interface documents. • Perform peer reviews on test documentation. • Ensure comprehensive test coverage, including positive and negative test cases and regression testing. • Set up and maintain the test environment, ensuring it is aligned with production configurations. • Execute manual testing across various test levels and log results, reporting deviations as necessary. • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with financial institutions, merchants, and billers. • Track and manage defects, ensuring proper resolution and re-testing of fixes. • Participate in production migration planning and deployment support. • Provide ad-hoc testing support for issue investigation and resolution. Test Analysis and Design: • Review requirements, design documents, and interface specifications to assess testability. • Identify and prioritize test conditions based on software specifications. • Design and develop detailed test cases and identify necessary test data. • Ensure traceability between test basis and test cases for sufficient coverage. Test Implementation and Execution: • Develop, prioritize, and execute test cases. • Verify test environments and configurations before execution. • Log test results, report defects, and analyze issues to determine root causes. • Perform regression testing to validate defect fixes. Test Monitoring and Control: • Provide test progress reports to the Project/Test Manager. • Track defects and follow up on fixes with relevant teams. Analytical and Logical Thinking: • Assess business situations and evaluate different scenarios. • Apply analytical skills to understand system behaviors and identify test scenarios. • Ask relevant questions to gain clarity on system and test requirements. Communication and Coordination: • Effectively communicate ideas, findings, and results. • Document and report test progress, defects, and results clearly and concisely. • Engage professionally with both internal and external stakeholders. ________________________________________ Service Level Agreement (SLA) / Key Performance Indicators (KPI): • Complete assigned tasks within the specified timeline. • Maintain high-quality test execution with minimal errors. • Accurately report defects within the defined time frame. • Handle multiple projects effectively. • Work independently with minimal supervision. • Collaborate with business users, developers, and testers to understand requirements. • Develop and execute test plans, cases, and scripts. • Prepare test reports and defect logs. • Ensure compliance with SDLC framework and Change Management procedures. ________________________________________ Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. • 3 to 5 years of experience working with cards services (Visa/Mastercard). • Experience with ISO8583 and ISO20022 specifications. • Familiarity with API tools like Postman (added advantage). • Experience in test automation (added advantage). • Strong knowledge of banking domain processes. ________________________________________ Additional Notes: • Only Malaysian citizens or expatriates based in Malaysia will be considered. • Preferably candidates who are immediately available or with a notice period of 30 days. • Candidates should have a clear working background that highlights relevant skills and experience. • The engagement is on-site. • Java skills are a MUST.
