Job Summary:
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of University College will serve as the institution’s highest-ranking executive responsible for providing strategic leadership, operational oversight, and overall direction for the university college. The CEO will work in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders to ensure the institution’s academic, financial, and administrative success. The CEO will be the principal representative of the institution, advocating for its mission, vision, and values, while advancing its reputation and fostering an environment conducive to innovation, inclusivity, and academic excellence.

Job Descriptions and Responsibilities:

  • Lead efforts to build a sustainable, innovative, and forward-thinking academic and operational model for the institution.
  • Foster a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and diversity throughout the university college.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the university college and the Board of Trustees, providing regular updates and strategic counsel.
  • Actively engage with faculty, students, alumni, industry partners, and government agencies to enhance the institution’s reputation and support its goals.
  • Build strong relationships with external organizations, including academic bodies, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.
  • Ensure the academic programs align with global trends, industry demands, and best practices, promoting a high standard of teaching, research, and learning.
  • Champion student success, creating programs and initiatives that support academic achievement, career readiness, and overall well-being.
  • Encourage innovation in curriculum design, delivery, and student engagement to meet the evolving needs of students and employers.
  • Oversee the financial health of the university college, ensuring effective budget management, resource allocation, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Lead efforts to secure funding through fundraising, grants, partnerships, and other revenue-generation activities.
  • Ensure the operational efficiency of all university college functions, optimizing resource use, implementing best practices, and maintaining strong systems of governance.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate senior leadership, faculty, and staff to foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance environment.
  • Promote professional development and career growth opportunities for employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain an open-door policy to encourage transparent communication and foster a sense of shared purpose.
  • Serve as the public face of the university college, representing its mission and vision to the broader community and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, educational bodies, and professional organizations to ensure the university college's continued recognition and support.
  • Lead marketing and public relations efforts to enhance the institution's visibility and attract prospective students, faculty, and partners.
  • Ensure the university college complies with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, accreditation requirements, and industry standards.
  • Oversee risk management strategies, ensuring that institutional risks are effectively identified, evaluated, and mitigated.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum a Master degree holder in any field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of senior leadership experience in higher education or a related field, with a proven track record of success in strategic planning, operational management, and financial stewardship.
  • A minimum of 8 years in managing an organization.
  • Experience in fundraising, community engagement, and developing institutional partnerships.
  • Deep understanding of higher education trends, governance structures, and the challenges facing university colleges.
