Data Architect
Key Responsibilities
- Data Architecture & Management:
- Design and optimize data architecture to support business intelligence, analytics, and data engineering workflows.
- Develop data models, schemas, and pipelines to ensure efficient data processing and integration.
- Application Installation & Maintenance:
- Install, configure, and maintain data-related applications such as ETL tools, analytics platforms, data warehouses, and database systems.
- Ensure software updates, patches, and security configurations are applied as needed.
- Work closely with IT and DevOps teams to ensure high availability and performance of data applications.
- Collaboration & Support:
- Provide technical support to Data Analysts and Data Engineers for installed applications.
- Assist with troubleshooting and optimizing queries, workflows, and dashboards.
- Train users on best practices for utilizing data applications effectively.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement data security policies, ensuring compliance with industry regulations. (Apache Ranger)
- Manage access controls and permissions for data-related applications.
- Performance Optimization & Innovation:
- Continuously monitor and enhance data application performance.
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve data architecture and workflows.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data architecture, database management, or data engineering.
- Strong knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience with ETL tools (RapidMiner, Talend, Apache NiFi, etc.) and data warehouses (Hadoop, Hive, etc).
- Hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Apache Superset) and analytics platforms.
- Proficiency in data lake (Hadoop, MiniO, Delta Lake, etc) and infrastructure management.
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Key Linux-Related Responsibilities for a Data Architect:
Installation & Configuration: Setting up databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB), ETL tools, and analytics applications on Linux servers.
Shell Scripting & Automation: Using Bash scripts for automating tasks like backups, log monitoring, and system updates.
User & Access Management: Managing permissions, roles, and security settings for installed applications.
Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Using Linux commands (e.g., top, htop, df -h, netstat, journalctl) to diagnose and optimize performance.
Networking & Security: Configuring firewalls, SSH access, and SSL certificates to secure data applications.

- AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
- Google Professional Data Engineer
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- TOGAF Certification
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 24 months
