Job Overview:

The Head of Carpentry will oversee all carpentry operations, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, timely project completion, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves managing a team of carpenters, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining efficient carpentry processes throughout construction or renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of carpenters to ensure high-quality work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of carpentry tasks, including the construction of structures, cabinetry, doors, windows, and other woodworks.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, sketches, and project plans to ensure carpentry work is aligned with the design and specifications.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of materials, ensuring they are available when needed and meet quality standards.
  • Ensure all carpentry work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other team leads to ensure smooth project progression.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any carpentry-related issues that arise during construction.
  • Conduct site inspections to ensure that carpentry work is being carried out according to the plan and up to standard.
  • Provide training, development, and performance feedback to carpentry team members.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and safe use of tools and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter with several years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of carpentry techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and building codes.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
