About the Role

A Barista is responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages while delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires expertise in coffee-making techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. A successful Barista is passionate about coffee, takes pride in their craft, and ensures every customer enjoys a memorable experience.

Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Preparation & Beverage Crafting

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty beverages.
  • Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and brewing equipment.
  • Follow recipes and presentation standards to ensure consistent quality.
  • Experiment with and recommend new flavors, ingredients, and drink specials.

Customer Service & Experience

  • Greet customers warmly and take accurate orders.
  • Engage with customers to provide recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.
  • Maintain a clean and inviting café environment.

Inventory & Equipment Maintenance

  • Monitor stock levels and inform the manager of replenishment needs.
  • Ensure ingredients, milk, syrups, and coffee beans are fresh and well-stocked.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, coffee machines, and utensils regularly.

Cash Handling & Order Processing

  • Process payments accurately using POS systems.
  • Manage cash transactions and provide correct change.
  • Follow standard operating procedures for order fulfillment and service speed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Barista or in the food and beverage industry is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and espresso machine operation.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
