Responsibilities

  • Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, bread, and other baked goods.
  • Follow recipes and portion controls while ensuring consistency and quality of products.
  • Ensure the proper preparation, handling, and storage of all pastry ingredients.
  • Assist in creating innovative and seasonal pastry offerings for the menu.
  • Contribute to the development of new desserts and pastry items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry section at all times.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure all orders are completed in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and guide junior pastry staff and ensure efficient operation of the section.
  • Foster a positive and cooperative work environment.
  • Provide training and development to junior members of the pastry team.
  • Ensure all pastries meet the establishment's quality standards.
  • Conduct regular checks on finished products to ensure the correct presentation and taste.
  • Assist in controlling costs through minimizing wastage and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure that production schedules are followed efficiently to reduce cost and increase profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards in food preparation and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Maintain proper storage and handling of food items to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Open for Malaysian citizen only.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Cook, or Chef de Partie in a high-end kitchen or bakery.
  • In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure.
  • Good understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Creative and innovative approach to pastry and dessert creation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent training is preferred.
