
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Prepare and verify progress claims, variation orders, EOT claims, and contractual claims, including final accounts, within specified timelines.
• Conduct site valuations, manage contractor submissions, and recommend Interim Payment Certificates (IPC).
• Develop and submit project proposals, quotations, and tender documents, including RFQs.
• Create and manage worker schedules, deployment plans, and related documentation.
• Obtain and compare quotations from sub-contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
• Ensure clear communication between clients and contractors, and manage correspondence.
• Conduct site visits, attend meetings, and participate in client discussions.
• Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting, monitoring, and ensuring projects stay within budget.
• Oversee pre- and post-contract work, including tender document preparation, cost analysis, contract negotiations, and final accounts.
• Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management, and cost-saving measures.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all project-related financial transactions.
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Bachelor's Degree/Postgraduate Diploma/Bachelor's Degree/Master’s Degree in Quantity Survey, or equivalent
• At least three (3) years of working experience in construction field is required for this position
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience in using Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Quantity Surveying Software would be added advantage.
• QS Post for both Pre & Post Contract works
• Excellent communicators and possess impressive numeracy skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role.
• Knowledge of construction methods, costing summary and materials budget handling skills.
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to problem solving and an ability to negotiate across the various levels of any construction environment.
• Proactive and ability to work on own initiative with minimum supervision.
• Able to priorities and respond with appropriate level of urgency.
• Highly reliable, confident with handling data.
• Able to work under pressure and independently.
• Applicants must be willing to work in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur
• Excellent oral and written communication skills (English).
