Group Financial Controller (Retail OR FMCG)
We are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a fast-growing company in the Retail/F&B industry. This is an exciting leadership role responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of financial management, reporting, and strategy across multiple markets. The ideal candidate will have strong commercial acumen, a hands-on approach, and the ability to drive financial excellence in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements across multiple countries.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, including tax and audit requirements.
- Develop and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Coordinate and manage annual audits, liaising with external auditors and tax advisors.
Financial Planning & Strategy
- Oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, aligning with company growth objectives.
- Provide financial insights and analysis to support business decisions, including new store openings and market expansion.
- Monitor key financial metrics, identify risks/opportunities, and recommend strategic actions.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Manage cash flow and working capital, ensuring liquidity for operations and expansion.
- Implement strategies for cost control and revenue optimization.
- Work closely with banks and financial institutions to optimize financing structures.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team, ensuring operational efficiency and talent development.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the finance department.
- Drive process improvements and leverage technology for enhanced financial reporting and decision-making.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in financial leadership roles, with at least 5 years in FP&A, financial reporting, or controlling.
- Prior experience in Retail or F&B industry is highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial regulations, and tax laws.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, Xero, or similar).
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-jurisdictional environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
