Position: Quality Manager

Report to: Plant GM

Responsibility:

  • Responsible for the overall Quality department function including supplier quality management, incoming quality control, SPC, in-process control, and outgoing/ customer quality assurance
  • Set quality direction and own quality performance in line with customer expectation
  • Ensure compliance for the implementation and maintenance of quality systems in accordance with customer, internal, ISO Standard, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • Raise NCMR/CAR according to procedures
  • Ensure compliance with customer quality & regulatory requirements through effective quality planning and collaboration with the customer to establish acceptable and realistic quality criteria
  • Ensure closer of quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of effective containment and close-loop corrective/ preventive actions (8D method)
  • To lead a team of Quality Engineers, inspectors, technicians and provide support to cross-functional managers to ensure corrective actions/ quality continuous improvement occurs per committed timeline. Direct, control, and motivate all quality subordinates in all aspects affecting their work performance
  • Initiate joint continuous improvement program with the customer to further improve customer satisfaction
  • Establish departmental level quality KPI & target, review and report quality performance regularly to ensure the target is achieved
  • Review QA/QC procedures and documentation from appointed vendors to verify conformance to project specifications codes & standards
  • Report to the management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
  • Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with Production, Planning, and Supply Assurance to ensure timely verification and release of material/ product.
  • Monitor daily QC operations and re-prioritize QC Ops deliverables, where required, evaluate and resolve any QC-related events escalated by QC technicians to minimize production downtime.

Required:

  • Diploma/ Degree or Advanced High School in the mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Bilingual in English/ Mandarin to co-ordinate with China counterpart
  • At least 3 years in managerial level and 5 years quality inspection experience
  • Knowledge of international standards & QA knowledge
  • Preferably experience in metal fabrication/surface treatment will be an added advantage.
  • Experience managing teams of people in a production environment
  • Able to work well under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and be able to work independently.
