Job Description

  • Develop, conceptualize and coordinate SeaMoney & ShopeePay Malaysia’s PR strategies to grow and sustain the company’s brand as well as Share-of-Voice in the media
  • Ideate compelling consumer campaigns and strategies for SeaMoney & ShopeePay’s products, services and announcements
  • Strategize and translate brand and key messages into compelling stories and thought leadership pieces
  • Identify media trends, news cycle and spin opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with media outlets, editors and journalists
  • Edit press releases, media statements, briefing documents, speeches and other documents
  • Be the advisory for PR and review content during roll-outs that will be communicated through various channels in-app and offline
  • Monitor, analyze and measure performance of PR efforts
  • Work closely with Regional PR to manage issues/crises for SeaMoney & ShopeePay Malaysia
  • Oversee the planning to execution of offline and online activations such as press conferences, press appreciation efforts, corporate launches and special projects with the Events team

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year of experience in Public Relations (Experience in a Multinational, Corporate or Agency environment is much welcomed)
  • Great personality, driven, self-motivated with high initiative, a multitasker and fast learner
  • Creative and has a good grasp of emerging trends as well as the latest news that can be used to help develop suitable PR strategies
  • Understands the importance of PR channels in influencing earned reputation necessary to drive the company’s objectives whether short term or long term, and translate this understanding into quality deliverables
  • Possess strong media relations (preferably across Tier 1 mainstream, tech, business and lifestyle media)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to read and write in Malay and Mandarin is an added advantage.
  • A good team player that can work well in a collaborative environment yet independently
  • Ability to galvanize information, resources and teamwork under pressure whether with junior executives or senior management
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong work ethics, highly meticulous, detailed-oriented with strong executional abilities
  • Proactive and able to work under minimal supervision
  • Experience in crisis management is an added advantage
  • Experience with consumer facing tech and social responsibility in tech or finance would also be a significant benefit.
