We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Needs Vocational Curriculum Coordinator to join our team at Enso Vocational Academy. This role involves overseeing and developing specialized vocational education programs tailored to students with special needs, ensuring that all students have the tools and resources to succeed in their careers.

As the Vocational Curriculum Coordinator, you will collaborate with a team of educators, special education staff, and parents to create a robust, inclusive curriculum that aligns with the students' needs, abilities, and career goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of vocational education and special education and will be committed to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development & Management: Design, develop, and modify vocational education curriculum that meets the unique needs of students with disabilities, focusing on job readiness skills, life skills, and career development.
  • Program Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the vocational curriculum across various settings, ensuring the program is delivered effectively and consistently.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure curriculum alignment with state and district standards, as well as individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Assessment & Evaluation: Develop assessment tools to evaluate students' progress, adjusting the curriculum as needed to meet student needs.
  • Professional Development: Provide training and support to educators and staff on best practices for teaching students with special needs in vocational settings.
  • Resource Management: Identify and secure resources (tools, technology, community partners, etc.) to enhance the vocational learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Vocational Education, or related field.
  • Certification in Special Education or relevant vocational teaching credentials.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with students with special needs, particularly in vocational education settings.
  • Strong knowledge of career readiness programs and job placement for students with disabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including teachers, parents, community organizations, and employers.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for empowering students with disabilities to achieve independence and success in the workforce.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and other specialized tools to support students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of local employers and job training programs that could benefit students with special needs.
  • Experience with IEP development and knowledge of individualized accommodations and modifications.
