Reporting to the Regional Business Development and Partnerships Manager APAC, this role is based in Malaysia and focuses on promoting our multi-currency and gateway solutions to hotel groups, in collaboration with our local banking partners. A strong understanding of Malaysia's payments and retail ecosystem is essential. You will actively pursue new partnerships through cold outreach and by leveraging existing opportunities, adopting a target-driven approach. While primarily focused on business development, this role also involves working with our acquiring partner to market and sell our hotel and retail gateway solutions to merchants, contributing to Company's growth and revenue in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

[80%] Business Development

  • Conduct business development activities in Malaysia, leveraging our local banking partner to sell our hotel and retail gateway solutions to hotel properties and groups.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle for each hotel, from pitching and signing merchants to onboarding and maintaining ongoing relationships.
  • Coordinate and oversee hotel integration projects by collaborating closely with internal teams (development, QA, support) and external parties (banking partner and hotel IT teams) to ensure alignment on project objectives and timelines.
  • Build and nurture relationships with tier-one hotel groups (e.g., Marriott, Accor, Hyatt, IHG) and maintain comprehensive annual account plans and pipeline.

[10%] Hotel Function & Support

  • Work directly with hotel finance and IT teams to drive adoption of Global Blue’s integrated solutions and manage issue resolution.

[10%] DCC Training & Monitoring

  • Conduct periodic DCC training to increase uptake and opt-in rates among merchants.
  • Provide regular and timely performance reports along with strategic insights to the regional sales head.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate internal communications for service rollouts, taking market-specific factors such as regulations and competition into account.
  • Optimize revenue through cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Strengthen relationships between external and internal parties to streamline issue resolution.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

At our Global Payments & Retail Company, we set clear expectations for mutual success, emphasizing both role responsibilities and cultural alignment. Please carefully consider the following before expressing interest:

  • Willingness to travel domestically as required
  • Proven success in negotiating with C-level executives, building credibility across all organizational levels, and expanding sales within complex enterprise clients.

  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, global, and geographically diverse environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
