An Event Manager is tasked with overseeing an event to ensure it runs smoothly. Event Managers assume many duties before and during the hosting of an event, including brainstorming ideas with clients, keeping event expenses within a set budget and addressing issues that arrive while guests are present.
- Lead, drive and oversee the overall planning for event projects, such as academic meeting, symposium, workshop or booth exhibition, etc.
- Ensure the smooth execution of event production and logistics, and optimize the resources planning for the company to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Employ the highest standards of practice to deliver optimum results for all events.
- Day to day liaison with internal teams, venues, contractors, suppliers and exhibitors in order to keep event projects on track.
- Compile post event reports and analysis, including budget management and cost bargaining.
- Flexibility to travel abroad for event support, particularly to Hong Kong and Singapore.
- Communicating with vendors and suppliers.
- Managing the event budget.
- Handling problems that arise during the event.
- Ensuring the event complies with insurance, health and safety standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Event Management, Marketing or Communications or related discipline.
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience in B2B event experience.
- High ability to work independently, to meet deadlines consistently and operate within budgetary targets; Excellent time management, organisation and prioritising skills.
- Confident team player with a creative and innovative approach; Well-organized; meticulous attention to details with strong proof reading and analytical skills.
- Mature, pro-active, able to work independently with positive attitude.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Organizational and planning abilities with creativity and problem-solving skills.
