Description

The Energy Solutions Engineer – Electrical is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical energy efficiency (EE) solutions for clients. This role involves analyzing energy consumption, recommending electrical system upgrades, and overseeing the installation of smart energy solutions, such as Energy Management Systems (EMS), smart LED retrofits, power factor correction, and other electrical energy solutions integration. The engineer collaborates with business development, audit, and project teams to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Electrical Energy Efficiency Solutions Design

  • Develop customized electrical energy-saving solutions based on energy audit findings.
  • Design power factor correction, EMS, and smart lighting systems to optimize energy usage.
  • Perform load assessments and electrical system simulations for energy optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with EECA, IEEE, IEC, and local electrical codes.

2. Technical Analysis & Project Development

  • Conduct power quality assessments and electrical efficiency studies.
  • Evaluate and recommend electrical energy efficiency solutions for energy savings.
  • Collaborate with Energy Analyst to analyze utility bills and electrical demand data.
  • Support the Business Development Executive in preparing technical proposals.

3. Project Implementation & Execution

  • Work with contractors and suppliers to oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical EE solutions.
  • Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and energy performance standards and requirements.
  • Validate system performance to achieve targeted energy savings.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during project execution.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their energy goals, address their concerns, and provide regular updates on project status and performance.

4. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Research and integrate smart energy solutions like AI-driven EMS, IoT-based energy monitoring, and demand response systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical energy solutions engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical energy-saving strategies for holistic EE projects.
  • Keep up with government incentives, rebates, and emerging energy efficiency technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in electrical energy efficiency, EMS, smart building, or power systems.
  • Strong knowledge of power factor correction, EMS, smart lighting, and electrical energy efficiency strategies.
  • Experience with electrical load analysis, energy audits, and EE regulations.
  • Certification in Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Registered Energy Manager (REM) is a plus.
