Job Purpose: The Manager of Strategic Procurement and Asset Management is responsible for overseeing and enhancing procurement operations, optimizing asset utilization, and ensuring cost-effective management of MARALiner’s assets and resources. This role involves developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The incumbent will play a key role in supporting MARALiner’s long-term sustainability and business objectives. Key Role Objectives: 1. Develop and implement robust procurement strategies to drive cost efficiency, supplier performance, and operational excellence. 2. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring quality, timely deliveries, and adherence to procurement policies. 3. Design and implement asset management frameworks to maximize asset utilization, lifecycle value, and cost-effectiveness. 4. Conduct thorough market research, trend analysis, and benchmarking to identify new opportunities for procurement optimization and asset enhancement. 5. Ensure strict compliance with procurement regulations, industry standards, and company policies while mitigating legal and financial risks. 6. Drive digital transformation initiatives by implementing automated procurement and asset tracking systems to enhance efficiency and transparency. 7. Develop and implement supplier performance evaluation frameworks to ensure consistent quality, cost competitiveness, and service excellence. 8. Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring business continuity and resilience against disruptions. 9. Spearhead cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, supplier collaboration, and contract negotiations without compromising service quality. 10. Provide strategic leadership, mentorship, and capacity-building initiatives to empower procurement and asset management teams for continuous improvement. Job Requirements: Education: - Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. - Professional certification in procurement, asset management, or supply chain (e.g., CIPS, CPM, CSCP) is highly preferred. Experience: - Minimum of 10 years in procurement, asset management, or supply chain management roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity. - Demonstrated experience in cost reduction strategies, supplier negotiations, and procurement policy development. - Strong expertise in asset lifecycle management, digital procurement systems, and contract administration. - Proven track record in leading complex procurement projects and delivering value-driven outcomes. Skills and Competencies: - Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to align procurement strategies with business goals. - Excellent negotiation and contract management skills to drive favorable procurement terms and supplier performance. - Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, compliance regulations, and risk management frameworks. - Proficiency in digital procurement platforms, asset tracking technologies, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. - Effective leadership, stakeholder management, and team-building skills to drive high-performance culture. - Strong financial acumen, budgeting, and analytical skills to assess procurement and asset investment decisions.
