Clerk of Work

Responsibilities • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site engineers, supervisor, quantity surveyors and general workforce involved in the project. • Carry out inspections at all ongoing and completed works to ensure compliance with specifications; • Assist in checking all construction drawings issued by consultants, specialist contractors, or subcontractors; • Assist in liaison with consultants and contractors to resolve any discrepancies in the consultants' drawings; • Responsible for the supervision and monitoring of construction works in accordance with the contracts and construction drawings, especially regarding specifications, quality/safety and time of completion; • To ensure that all materials delivered to site conform to the approved specifications and the project's inspection test plan; • Ensure all site documents i.e. drawings, plans, reports, correspondences, etc. are filed/stored accordingly for easy retrieval; • Prepare / verify site diary, progress reports and verify test reports. Monitor and witness testing and commissioning of all work done. Keep records at site; • Liaise with contractors, sub-contractors and authorities on site matters and interfacing works; • Issue site memo for non-compliance works / non-safe works; • To prepare reports to superiors on the progress of the work and the problem areas encountered, especially concerning defective, outstanding, non-conforming, delayed and non-safe works; • Involved in defective work inspection & identification and recommend solutions; • Attend all site meetings and submit weekly / monthly reports to management; • Any ad hoc duties as assigned by management from time to time. Requirements: • Candidate must possess at least Diploma or Bachelor's Degree, in Engineering (Civil) or Equivalent. • Posses BEM's IOW certificate would be an additional advantage • At least 5 years working experience in handling project site is required for this position. • Possess own transport. • Able to handle site independently. • Positive working attitude, aggressive, strong discipline and proactive. • Good command of spoken and written English, Bahasa Malaysia & Mandarin. • Willing to work in SHAH ALAM for 18 months.
