Job Description

1. Administration and technical support for AS/400, business applications include databases and middleware in MSIG environment.

2. Monitor performances for MSIG applications ensuring system availability / uptime and response time within KPI

3. Conforms to Head Office, Regional, Regulatory, Local IT internal policies including Technology Risk Management and Cyber Resilience Framework

4. Ensure uniform system / application related policies and procedures are maintained

Requirements

1. IBM WAS, MQ, SOAP, REST, Web Service, Application Programming Interface (API), Java applications

2. Web applications – Tomcat, IIS, NGINX

3. Databases – DB2, MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostGRES

4. IBM i-Series and OS/400 and DB400

5. Technology trends and directions

6. Basis knowledge in Operating System and Network infrastructure

7. Data Communication Protocols

8. AS400, Application and Databases Security

9. System/application performance analysis and improvement

Responsibilities

1. Maintain reliable front-end / business applications, core system (AS/400), databases and associated infrastructure within agreed service levels for MSIG users and system-linked business partners

2. Maintain relevant operational controls to ensure reliability and efficiencies of computing applications & databases.

3. Conduct application / database health check and cleanup regularly to ensure smooth operations in MSIG environment.

4. Troubleshoot, conduct root cause analysis and remedial actions related to Core System, front-end & business applications / databases.

5. Liaise with vendors/service providers on applications / database operations including support services.

6. Continuous update and monitoring of the application / database software version for the EOL / EOS date and plan for upgrade or propose for change of solution.

7. Plan and execute application / databases related security patch management activities including preventive maintenance.

8. Develop and maintain technical process documentation, policy, IT Change Management forms and reports related to application / databases.

9. Assist IT Operations support on error handling, system and application / databases related issues.

10. Assist in the continuous improvement of IT quality objectives and ensure conformance to procedures.

11. Capacity Management as per pre-defined KRIs with monthly report submission

12. Involvement in yearly IT Disaster Recovery activities

13. Participate other special projects/tasks related as may be assigned

Qualifications

1. Tertiary qualification or diploma in computer-related disciplines

2. Minimum 3 years working experience in AS/400, IT application support or databases

3. Insurance operational exposure is an advantage.

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
