JOB POSITION: SOUS CHEF - INDIAN CUISINE

JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Sous Chef oversees and coordinates food preparation activities within restaurant kitchens. Often referred to as the assistant to the head chef or the head chef’s second-in-command, these proficient professionals undertake various tasks such as menu planning, staff training, and inventory management.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create fresh menu selections inspired by seasonal variations and customer preferences.
- Aid in designing and preparing meal plans.
- Oversee kitchen operations to ensure efficiency and timeliness.
- Address customer issues and inquiries directly.
- Track and manage inventory levels, initiating orders for replenishment when needed.
- Offer assistance to junior kitchen staff, including tasks like line cooking, food prep, and plate presentation.
- Recruit and train new kitchen personnel to uphold restaurant and kitchen protocols.
- Develop employee schedules and conduct performance evaluations.
- Enforce sanitation and safety protocols.
- Supervise kitchen staff in the absence of the executive chef.
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- A Bachelor’s degree in culinary science or a related area.
- At least 2 years of experience in a comparable position.
- Comprehensive understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen machinery, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and restaurant software applications.
- Team-oriented approach with exceptional leadership qualities.
- Superior communication and interpersonal abilities.
