MECHANICAL ENGINEER
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Enhance existing product modules to improve reliability, reduce costs, and simplify manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.
- Investigate and implement engineering change requests (CC) with a focus on cost reduction and functionality improvements.
- Evaluate and qualify replacements for end-of-life (EOL) components.
- Ensure designs align with cost principles while meeting safety standards and international machine product regulations.
- Develop 3D models, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and 2D drawings following company's standards and design rules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electronics, software, supply chain) to achieve project objectives.
- Provide quick responses to production and customer issues.
- Support customization projects by assessing feasibility, developing concepts, and presenting design proposals to stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work on incremental development of existing modules to increase reliability, reduce costs and ease manufacturing, assembly and maintenance.
- Investigate engineering change requests / change control (CC) and implement design changes; focusing on cost reduction, functionality improvements.
- Investigate, evaluate and qualify replacement(s) for end-of-life (EOL) components.
- Abide design to cost principles in any aspects, while conforming to safety requirements and international machine product standards.
- Create 3D modules and BOMs incl. 2D drawings following the Company's standards and design rules.
- Work closely with other disciplines (electronics / software / supply chain) to meet project objectives.
- Ensure fast response to production and customer issues
- Supports customization project requests from customer project managers, provide assessment (feasibility, concept, risks) and design proposals for stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- BSc degree in Mechanical / Mechatronics engineering
Work experience
- At least 3-5 years relevant experience in automation / equipment industries.
- Significant practical experience in mechanical engineering, assembly and testing.
- Knowledge in Plating process/ requirements will be an added advantage.
Expertise and methodology
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. Creo Direct Modeling, Creo Parametric).
- Experience with PDM/PLM software (PTC Windchill or Agile).
- Proven problem solving skills
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
- Understanding of cost drivers within manufacturing and across the supply chain
- Good knowledge of mechanical parts evaluation and qualification
- Understanding of assembly procedures of complex mechatronic systems

Job Type: Permanent
Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
