Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle payroll calculations, including salaries, overtime, allowances, deductions, and bonuses.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws (Employment Act 1955) and statutory requirements.
- Process payroll for full-time, contract, and part-time employees.
- Ensure proper deduction and remittance of statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB)
- Prepare and submit relevant payroll-related statutory filings to government authorities.
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws, labour regulations, and statutory requirements in Malaysia.
- Assist in payroll audits and ensure accurate payroll records.
- Maintain and update payroll systems/software
- Work with IT and finance teams to troubleshoot payroll system issues.
- Prepare payroll reports, payslips, and summary reports for management review
- Reconcile payroll transactions and ensure accuracy in payroll accounting.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure proper posting of payroll expenses.
- Handle year-end payroll processing, including EA form issuance.
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax laws and assist employees with income tax filing (Form E & Form EA).
- Support tax clearance processes for expatriates and resigning employees.
- The management and supervisor reserve the right to require you in other ad-hoc tasks from time to time.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, or any related field.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience, preferably handling employees in a large-scale organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR processes, HRIS systems, labour laws, tax calculations and statutory regulations.
- Strong Excel skills, capable of analysing basic data and trends.
- Experience in payroll audits and compliance reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple payroll cycles within tight deadlines.
- Capability to design and implement payroll process improvements for efficiency and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
· Certifications: Knowledge of HR/payroll certifications (e.g., Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus.
