Our company is seeking a talented and experienced Hardware Engineer to build machine learning rigs using consumer-grade components. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and building custom computer systems that can handle intensive machine learning workloads. You will work closely with our data science team to understand their requirements and build high-performance rigs that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build custom computer systems for machine learning workloads using consumer-grade components, ensuring compatibility of motherboard and GPU selection.
  • Overclocking CPU and computer memory manipulation for optimized performance.
  • Work closely with data science team to understand their requirements and translate them into hardware specifications.
  • Develop and test hardware prototypes to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Optimize computer systems for power consumption, cooling, and noise reduction.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues in a timely manner.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in hardware technology and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Document hardware designs, specifications, and test results.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of computer hardware, including motherboard compatibility, processors, graphics cards, memory, and storage.
  • Experience in designing and building custom computer systems, preferably for machine learning workloads.
  • Proficiency in using hardware testing and benchmarking tools.
  • Expertise in overclocking CPU and computer memory manipulation.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating system and shell scripting.
  • Experience in programming with Python or C++.
  • Knowledge of network architecture and security.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing services such as AWS or Azure.
