Assistant Vice President / Vice President – Reinsurance Actuary (Actuarial Analytics)

Guy Carpenter and Co Labuan Ltd seeks candidates for the following position based in Kuala Lumpur:

Key Responsibilities

  • Build complex analyses to evaluate assumptions, premiums and risk, and consult with clients on reinsurance actuarial services that assess and mitigate risk.
  • Serve as a strategic partner with brokers and clients to find solutions to client problems.
  • Collaborate with the actuarial and broking teams to ensure client and broking needs are met, analytics resources are used appropriately and GC Analytics supports the relationship with the client.
  • Work with a strong brand in the (re)insurance industry alongside industry leading experts.
  • Develop innovative solutions to better quantify and manage risk for clients of all sizes.
  • Support for actuarial study and professional development.
  • Access to Employee Resource Groups offering career growth and mentoring opportunities.

Your Contributions

  • Consult with brokers on client's needs and advise on reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance level and industry trends.
  • Implement complex models/calculations to assess risk and develop pricing and strategies for a range of risk exposures for clients.
  • Presents technical topics to clients and responds to client queries and concerns.
  • Provides technical training to clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Excellent communications, presentations and project management skills.
  • Strong ability to handle significant workflow through efficient time management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in non-life (re)insurance.
  • FCAS, FIAA, FIA or nearly qualified.
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related analytical or quantitative field.
  • Knowledge of catastrophe models and working with catastrophe model output.
  • Understanding of non-life insurance products.
  • Experience in leading a team.
