  6. Make sure Off is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.
  7. On the left, click Pop-up Windows.
  8. Make sure Allow is chosen in the pop-up menu next to the website.

Job Overview:

The Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Science Department in preparing, maintaining, and managing laboratory equipment, chemicals, and resources to facilitate practical lessons. The role ensures a safe and efficient laboratory environment that enhances students' learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment, chemicals, and materials required for science experiments and practical lessons.
  • Ensure the proper storage, handling, and disposal of laboratory chemicals and biological specimens in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition, and report any damages or malfunctions.
  • Assist teachers during practical sessions and provide technical support when needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of lab supplies and initiate procurement when necessary.
  • Implement and enforce health and safety procedures to ensure a secure working environment for students and staff.
  • Support students in understanding laboratory best practices and encourage safe laboratory behavior.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance of laboratory spaces and equipment.
  • Keep up to date with safety guidelines, best practices, and advancements in laboratory technology.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related field.
  • Prior experience as a Lab Technician, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with teachers and students.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow strict safety guidelines.
  • Proficiency in maintaining inventory and records of laboratory resources.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with international school curricula (IGCSE, IB, etc.)
  • Certification in laboratory safety or related training.
