Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute merchandise plans based on sales trends, historical data, and market analysis to meet financial targets.
  • Forecast sales and inventory levels to ensure adequate stock is available without overstocking, optimizing inventory turnover.
  • Collaborate with buyers and suppliers to create purchase orders, ensuring that product selection aligns with sales forecasts and customer demand.
  • Analyze sales and inventory performance regularly to make recommendations for replenishment, markdowns, or adjustments in future forecasts.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sell-through rates, inventory turnover, and stock-to-sales ratios.
  • Assist in the preparation of seasonal and promotional merchandise plans to align with marketing and sales strategies.
  • Work closely with supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of merchandise and manage stock replenishment.
  • Identify opportunities for improving product assortment, pricing strategies, and overall merchandise performance.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on merchandise performance to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and consumer preferences to adjust merchandise strategies as needed.
  • Assist with the analysis of markdowns and promotions, ensuring they are in line with profitability goals.
  • Support the overall merchandise planning process, including the development of assortment plans and new product launches.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandise planning, buying, or inventory management in a retail or e-commerce setting.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret sales data, trends, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with merchandise planning software and advanced proficiency in Excel or similar data analysis tools.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, including inventory management and stock replenishment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with various teams.
