Job Purpose • To ensure that Safety activities and performance comply with the respective legislations, Sime Darby Industrial requirements, Site requirement • To identify, manage and reduce exposure to environmental, safety and health risks of SDISB operations • To ensure the SDISB Safety Management System is implemented across areas of responsibility • To monitor environmental, safety and health performance across areas of responsibility. • To provide coaching and guidance on Safety, Health and Environmental requirements to all relevant personnel in operation. • To provide advice to operating units and project teams across areas of responsibility Job Description The incumbent is responsible to manage day-to-day HSE operations which include any of the following: • Proactively involved in safety supervision, ensuring proper practices are observed on the workplace; To fulfil training responsibilities set by • the SHO which may include safety induction, conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks for workers at site; • To participate in periodic safety meetings as specified by the management or client contractual requirements; • To participate in safety surveillance programs schedule for the projects according to the HSE rollout plan; • To participate in safety audits according to the internal/external HSE audit plan; • To report, evaluate and when necessary investigate all work-related accidents; • To assist SHO in accident investigation and implement corrective actions; • To assist SHO in communicating safety-related policies and procedures (OSH-MS), as well as ensuring they are followed; • To assist SHO in formulating new OSH site specific procedure (SSP) for the purpose of implementation at workplace; • To assist the management in determining the need to revise or formulate new HSE policies and procedures that will accommodate the current core businesses; • Be responsible for enforcement of such safety policies and procedures; • Be responsible for ensuring that the company is in compliance with all safety-related regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EQA, FMA. • To ensure that workers have proper safety credentials and personal protective equipment, and to report any non-compliances to the management; • To verify and report any workplace violations to the management; • To comply with all HSE reporting requirements; • To adhere to the safety rules and regulations as specified by the industry. Education / Professional Qualification • Site Safety Supervisor Certificate (yellow book holder) • Diploma holder is required but personnel with minimum 3 - 5 years working experience in the same field will be qualified
