Primary Cover-Support Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Primary Cover/Support Teacher to join our vibrant educational team.

This role will involve providing high-quality teaching and support to students in the primary phase, ensuring that they experience a seamless continuation of their learning during periods of teacher absence. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the primary Cambridge Curriculum and demonstrate a passion for fostering student development in a nurturing environment. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons across various subjects, adapting to different classroom dynamics, and implementing effective behaviour management strategies. Your role will also involve building positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to support the holistic development of our students. A dynamic and proactive approach to teaching is essential, as you will need to create a stimulating learning atmosphere while being responsive to the needs of diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Adapt lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom.
• Manage classroom behaviour in accordance with school policies.
• Implement engaging and interactive learning activities.
• Monitor and assess student progress.
• Provide feedback and support to students to enhance their learning.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistent educational practices.
• Develop Resources and to support colleagues.
• Support in class with colleagues in the event of no cover requirements.

Requirements

• Desirable: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification (PGCE).
• Knowledge of the Cambridge Curriculum for primary education.
• Experience working with primary-aged children in a classroom setting within - reception to Year 6.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit diverse learners.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
