Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily production of sourdough bread, Viennoiserie, and other baked goods.
- Oversee the mixing, fermentation, shaping, and baking processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Manage production schedules to meet demand while minimizing waste.
- Train and mentor junior bakers, sharing knowledge on techniques and best practices.
- Monitor and maintain high hygiene and food safety standards.
- Assist in testing and developing new recipes in collaboration with the Production Manager and Head of R&D.
- Ensure all baking equipment is properly maintained and report any issues.
We are looking for a Senior Baker to join our team, bringing expertise in sourdough and viennoiserie production. This role involves hands-on baking, production planning, quality control, and mentoring junior bakers to maintain the high standards of Universal Bakehouse.
Requirements
- Minimum education: Diploma and above
- Language required: English & Mandarin
- Skills required: Food and Beverage Knowledge, Customer Service, Hygiene and Food Safety, Communication Skills, Teamwork, Stamina, Attention to Detail, Food Handling, Baking Techniques, Food Safety and Hygiene, ingredient Knowledge, Recipe Development
- Local Malaysian ONLY
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional baking experience, with a strong background in sourdough and viennoiserie.
- Deep understanding of fermentation, lamination, and dough handling techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable with early morning shifts and flexible working hours, including weekends and public holidays.
- Passion for artisanal baking and continuous learning.
- Good interpersonal communication skills.
