Job description • Set up and operate CNC machines (EDM, Wirecut, Mills, Lathes, Grinders, etc.) to fabricate tooling components such as EDM electrodes, Inserts, Ejector Plates, Core Pins and other Mold Components. • Interpret 3D CAD models, Engineering drawings, and CAD/CAM files to accurately program CNC machines. • Select and install appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for machining operations. • Conduct machine tool calibration and tool changes as required to ensure precise manufacturing standards. • Monitor machine performance during production and make adjustments as needed to maintain part quality and consistency. • Perform quality checks on finished parts using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM) to ensure adherence to tight tolerances. • Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve technical issues and improve tooling designs. • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues with CNC machinery to minimize downtime. • Maintain accurate records of job setups, parts produced, and materials used. • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment. • Work effectively in a team environment, assisting other machinists and toolmakers as necessary. Qualification: • Diploma (Mech Engineering) or any TVET Certification. • Minimum of 5 years of CNC machining experience, particularly in tool making or similar industries • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, specifically in tool making or a related field. • Proficiency in CNC machine setup, programming, and operation (experience with [specific CNC machine brands or software, if relevant, such as Makino, Siemens, FANUC, Mastercam, or SolidWorks]). • Strong knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, materials, and metallurgy. • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files. • Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, etc.). • Solid understanding of tooling and fixture design and the ability to work with custom-made tooling. • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, precise parts. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and other team members.
