Disaster Recovery

Manage the Business Continuity aspect of the Information Technology (IT) Services of the Organization so that the business goals can be met efficiently and effectively, especially in the area of Disaster Recovery, ensuring recovery readiness is in place to support business function in the event of a disaster. The Job: Support business development in the field of business continuity, disaster recovery & crisis management, including managing projects to support the initiative. Prepare, coordinate and conduct the organization’s disaster recovery exercises and validation/test to enhance the preparedness of an organization to deal with disruptive events, ensuring the RTO (recovery time objectives) and RPO (recovery point objectives) for the organization’s systems are met. Manage DR Command Center during disaster recovery exercises to ensure all DR activities and communications run smoothly, and all issues resolved. Review disaster recovery approach and procedure, adjust disaster recovery runbook where necessary. Review organization's major business function’s recovery readiness, including reviewing the capability and capacity of recovery systems and propose solution/implement and test to ensure DR readiness is in place. Advocate continuous service improvement to ensure improvement plan is in place to address operational gaps. Manage the Business Units Business Continuity Coordinators and Disaster Recovery third party vendor relationships. Manage stakeholders’ relationship according to the communication framework established for Service Management. Conduct disaster recovery post mortem, prepare test report and management reporting on disaster recovery activities for the Organization. Escalate and mitigate risks of service delivery, and recommends course of action. Work with various governance functions and stakeholders within the Great Eastern Organization- in the areas of project risks management and procurements Skills: Experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery & Crisis Management. Disaster Recovery Planning & Testing Management of DR Command Centre Experience in managing the DR Command Centre during exercises to ensure smooth operations. Disaster Recovery Procedures Review & Improvement Ability to review and improve disaster recovery procedures and systems to meet RTO and RPO. Recovery System Readiness & Capacity Review. Stakeholder Management & Communication Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and communication frameworks for service management. Post-Mortem & Reporting Experience in conducting post-mortem analysis, preparing test reports, and presenting findings. Risk Management. Ability to identify, mitigate, and manage project and operational risks. Experience in project management, following PMO processes, and managing procurement processes. Industry Knowledge and Awareness. Keeping up to date with industry trends, regulatory compliance, and emerging technologies.
