About the role
We are looking for an experienced Country Manager to lead our operations in Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia. As the Country Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our business in the region, from strategic planning to day-to-day operations. This is a full-time, on-site position that will be integral to the success and growth of MPS Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
What you'll be doing
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive business growth and profitability in the local market
- Manage and oversee all operational activities, including sales, marketing, finance, and human resources
- Build and lead a high-performing team, providing coaching and mentorship to ensure they are equipped to deliver exceptional results
- Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government authorities
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity, and make data-driven decisions to maintain a competitive edge
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies
- Report on performance metrics and provide regular updates to the executive team
What we're looking for
- Significant experience (8+ years) in a senior leadership role, preferably in the general/business unit management or CEO & general management industries
- Proven track record of leading successful business operations and driving growth in a competitive market
- Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets and optimise operations
- Outstanding people management skills, including the ability to build, lead, and motivate high-performing teams
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships at all levels
- We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
