Maintenance Technician for Wastewater Treatment Plant at Infineon Kulim
Work Responsibilities:
Mechanical technicians can have a wide variety of responsibilities, and these may differ depending on their industry and employer. Some mechanical technicians may work entirely with their hands, while others can work to do a mix of hands-on work and mental work. Here are some of the most common duties for mechanical technicians:
- Maintaining and repairing equipment
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Data analysis to assess the performance of machinery
- Communicating with and supporting engineers
- Documenting machine safety and maintenance
Most mechanical technicians work with their hands at least part of the time, which can also include using different types of repair or industrial equipment. That equipment includes everything from a screwdriver to a forklift, depending on the type of work the mechanical technician does. Mechanical technicians may work specifically for a company that owns equipment that requires maintenance, or they can work for a service company that deploys them to help clients with repairs and maintenance.
- Must have 3 years of wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) experience.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the wastewater treatment plant, including monitoring process parameters, adjusting controls, and optimizing treatment processes.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, conduct routine inspections, troubleshoot failures, and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.
- Continuously monitor and analyse process performance data to identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure treated effluent meets regulatory standards through sampling, analysis, and corrective actions.
- Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards to maintain a safe working environment and prevent environmental pollution.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans to address equipment failures and process upsets, minimizing disruptions to plant operations.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to plant operators and maintenance staff, including training and procedure development.
- Assist in budget development and management, monitoring expenses and optimizing resource allocation.
Qualifications:
- Certificate or Diploma in mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field.
- Previous experience in wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance (Minimum 3 years).
- Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, equipment, and regulations.
- Familiarity with process control systems, instrumentation, and data analysis tools.
- Critical thinking skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to interact with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to travel upon requirement.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,400.00 per month
