The Role: Senior Financial Analyst S&P Global Commodity Insights, the leading independent provider of information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets, is searching for support to the Platts ACV & Revenue team. The new Senior Financial Analyst will help manage Annualized Contract Value [ACV] & Revenue reporting, including providing support for the day-to-day management of financial operations and assisting with special projects related to ACV, Revenue, & cost of sales.

Location: Pasig City, Philippines and Penang, Malaysia


The Impact: This position will work alongside the Finance Manager and Director to ensure all monthly financial reporting and analysis is delivered timely and accurately to facilitate decision-making by management.


The Career Opportunity: The role offers the opportunity to gain a centralized view of S&P Global Commodity Insights Finance, with responsibilities focusing on financial reporting and analysis. There is a track record of advancement within this Finance team and the broader S&P Global Finance organization.

The Team / The Business: The S&P Global Platts Finance team primarily consists of New York, London, and Manila based employees. The Team also interacts with other divisions of S&P Global Corporate.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly commission adjustment process.

  • Assist with the monthly ACV creation process, including preparing a monthly management summary and commentary.

  • Assist with monthly revenue and ACV estimates and the annual budgeting process for ACV, net sales, and revenue.

  • Responsible for maintaining ACV data warehouse and manage the associated reconciliations.

  • Support overall business unit reporting requirements. Develop knowledge and understanding of the financial systems that are critical to the reporting process.

  • Prepare requests related to internal/external audits and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

  • Prepare analysis for ad hoc requests and special projects and provide direct support to the Managers and Directors of Finance on an as-needed basis.

Other Accountabilities:

  • Provide thorough and accurate responses to senior management and business leads inquires.

  • Work with key business stakeholders to evaluate existing metrics and develop new metrics related to ACV, net sales, and revenue.

  • Performs ad hoc analyses as requested to help management make informed decisions.

  • Alert management to accounting or operational problems and suggest actionable solutions

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. MBA is preferred, but not required.

  • 3-5 years’ work experience related to financial analysis.

  • Knowledge of US GAAP and revenue recognition guidance is required/

  • Strong knowledge of large data manipulation skills.

  • Strong skills in MS Excel (Pivot tables, V-Lookups, IF functions, etc.) and PowerPoint.

  • Experience with ERP (Oracle Financials), SalesForce.com, Tableau, Alteryx, and SmartView is preferred.

  • Knowledge of SQL and basic data warehouse experience is a plus.

  • Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for resolving operational and financial problems.

  • Demonstrate the investigative research and analytical capabilities necessary to the leadership team with an accurate and insightful interpretation of financial information.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability with an inquisitive mind.

  • Ability to work independently and as a fully contributing member of a team.

  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
