Job Overview:

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Credit Controller to join our Credit Control team. As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s credit and collections process, ensuring that outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner while maintaining positive relationships with customers. Your role will be vital in ensuring the company’s financial stability by minimizing overdue accounts and reducing collection costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Control Collection:
    • Arrange meetings with customers to discuss outstanding debts and payment issues.
    • Negotiate new payment dates and payment amounts based on customer’s financial situation.
    • Plan and set up new loan agreements based on customer’s monthly budgets and ability to repay.
    • Work towards reducing customer debts and minimizing collection costs.
  • Account Management:
    • Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and initiate collection actions as required.
    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment agreements, and updates on payment progress.
    • Send reminders and follow up on overdue invoices via phone, email, or in-person meetings.
  • Customer Relations:
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to facilitate prompt payments and resolve payment disputes.
    • Offer flexible payment terms, settlements, and payment plans to assist customers in managing their debts.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare regular reports on outstanding accounts, overdue balances, and collection efforts for senior management.
    • Analyze trends in overdue payments and propose strategies to reduce late payments and improve cash flow.
  • Compliance & Accuracy:
    • Ensure compliance with company credit policies and legal requirements regarding collections.
    • Ensure all customer data and payment information is accurately recorded and kept confidential.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller, Accounts Receivable, or similar finance role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control procedures, accounting, and debt recovery processes.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple accounts efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
