POSITION PURPOSE This position supports the grant principal investigator and the Hub Director along with the research team in the execution of all activities under the Regional Hub for Asia Climate Change and Health (REACH) to ensure milestones completion. This position is suitable for someone who: Has strong written and verbal communication skills in English Deeply interested in and experience of climate change and health intersectional research Able to start work immediately Willing to take short trips abroad for the project Malaysian national or international candidate who understand Malaysian local languages Reporting line: The position reports to the grant principal investigator and the Hub Director Supervisory responsibilities: Not applicable Financial delegation and/or budget responsibilities: Not applicable KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Lead and write a systematic situational analysis. 2. Stay informed of developments in the field through collaboration with the research supervisor and peers, literature review, and attending meetings and seminars, while supporting the delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for climate change and health capacity building in the region. 3. Support the research team by contributing to activities within the hub, project partners, and sub-awardees, including but not limited to conducting statistical analysis, simulations and literature searches to assist with manuscript and report preparation, prepare documentation for grant and ethics applications as well as research and conference papers while developing a publication record and advancing academic progress. 4. Provide support for collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive research impact and capacity building excellence 5. Support the management of education, research and/or administration in the Hub and the School by assisting in documentation of the Hub research output and performance for Malaysia Research Assessment (MyRA) report 6. Comply with University policy, procedure and protocols in relation to the nature of the research being conducted. 7. Other duties as required within the scope of the classification of this position KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Education/Qualifications 1. A doctoral qualification (PhD) or equivalent qualification in the area of public health, psychology, social science, behaviour science and considerable experience of climate change and health; planetary health 2. Demonstrated ability to engage in training, workshops, and capacity building within a university environment, alongside producing excellent research and supervising Undergraduate/Honours students, research assistants, HDR students. 3. Ability to produce high-quality research, analyze information effectively and create clear, concise reports, with strong proficiency in software and digital tools for quantitative and qualitative data analysis, including SPSS, R, STATA, and NVivo. Prior experience in conducting public health research is an advantage. 4. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. A working knowledge of any one of the major languages spoken in Malaysia would be an advantage. 5. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize, coordinate and complete projects independently, meeting agreed standards, deadlines, and performance indicators. 6. Demonstrated teamwork, strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence skills to manage stakeholder relationships and interact courteously with diverse individuals, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
