PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

Reports To: Production Engineer / Production Manager

Job Description:

1. Production Management

Supervise Production Processes:

· Monitor extrusion blow molding machines to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

· Oversee setup, adjustment, and troubleshooting of blow molding machines.

· Optimize production output while minimizing waste and defects.

· Ensure the work area is safe and clean.

· Perform daily SAP production data entry.

Schedule and Plan Production:

· Liaise with planner to plan daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demands.

· Allocate resources (manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency.

· Ensure adherence to production deadlines and quality standards.

Process Optimization:

· Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements.

· Recommend and execute changes to enhance cycle times, efficiency, and energy usage.

· Coordinate mold changes, material changes, and machine maintenance schedules.

· Monitor production raw material preparation are done properly and recorded.

2. Quality Assurance

Monitor Product Quality:

· Inspect jerry cans for defects such as thickness inconsistencies, leakage, or deformation.

· Ensure products meet specified dimensions, durability, and quality standards.

Implement Quality Control Procedures:

· Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to enforce quality checks at each production stage.

· Identify and address issues causing product defects, ensuring continuous improvement.

3. Team Supervision and Training

Lead Production Teams:

· Supervise and manage production workers.

· Assign tasks, manage shift rotations, and ensure accountability for performance.

· Monitor production workers’ productivity, evaluate performance, and provide constructive feedback and coaching.

· Maintain workers’ timekeeping and personnel records.

Train and Develop Staff:

· Provide training on machine operation, safety protocols, and production best practices for new workers.

· Evaluate team performance and recommend upskilling or additional training where necessary.

4. Machine and Facility Maintenance

Oversee Equipment Condition:

· Perform cleaning, inspection & lubrication of blow molding machines and auxiliary equipment.

· Schedule routine machine inspections and preventive maintenance with the maintenance team.

· Quickly address and resolve equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.

Monitor Spare Parts Inventory:

· Maintain stock of critical spare parts and consumables for blow molding machines.

· Liaise with maintenance team or purchasing to replenish low stock items.

5. Safety and Compliance

Ensure Workplace Safety:

· Enforce adherence to safety protocols and guidelines in the production area.

· Conduct regular safety briefings and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Compliance with Standards:

· Ensure compliance with local regulations, including ISO, OSHA, and environmental standards.

· Implement processes to reduce waste and energy consumption in line with sustainability goals.

6. Daily Tasks

Monitor Production Progress:

· Check machine settings and ensure proper raw material feeding.

· Conduct daily inspections of ongoing production and finished goods.

· Ensure workers carry out proper housekeeping and good 5S practices.

Coordinate Across Departments:

· Liaise with the Quality, Maintenance, and Logistics teams to resolve issues and align priorities.

· Communicate production updates and challenges to management.

Maintain Reports and Records:

· Production report (verify, summarize and report)

· Material mixing form (verify, summarize and report)

· Jerrycan daily inspection checklist (verify, summarize and report)

· Machine process settings sheet (verify and report)

· SAP production data entry

7. Performance Metrics

· Achievement of production targets and schedules.

· Reduction in downtime, defects, and material waste.

· Compliance with quality and safety standards.

· Employee engagement and skill development within the production team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,700.00 - RM2,500.00 per month

Schedule:

• Day shift

Supplemental Pay:

• Overtime pay

Experience:

• Supervising: 2 years (Required)
