Purchasing Assistant Manager

Are you an experienced procurement professional looking for a leadership role in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant Manager to join our team and play a vital role in driving the efficiency of our supply chain operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Lead and manage a team of Direct and Indirect Buyers.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies, and management directives.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
- Support and mentor team members in handling operational challenges.
- Coordinate with the Supply Chain Manager to achieve strategic objectives.
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Oversee purchasing activities, including generating purchase orders for raw materials and indirect purchases.
- Analyze capacity and material availability to support efficient production planning.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement data in the ERP system and handle supplier-related quality issues.
Inventory & Cost Management
- Monitor inventory levels, ensuring optimal stock availability while preventing overstocking.
- Work closely with planners and sales teams to align purchasing with demand forecasts.
- Facilitate tenders for high-value orders and manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Prepare procurement reports and conduct cost analysis for continuous cost optimization.
Logistics & Compliance
- Handle import shipments, ensuring smooth customs clearance and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities align with company policies related to quality, security, safety, and environmental standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Experience: Minimum 4 years in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles (e.g., Procurement Officer, Tactical Buyer, Purchasing Executive).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or equivalent experience.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity, assertiveness, and problem-solving ability.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Oracle knowledge is an advantage).
- Excellent command of English (Mandarin proficiency is a plus).
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM8,500.00 per month
