About you: We are looking for a talented and motivated Customization Specialist to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing the Booking Engine and Guest Portal that support our business systems. You will work with a wide range of technologies to create new features, enhance existing products, and integrate various in-house systems. You are a customer focused individual with strong knowledge of your chosen industry and our Access products and have advanced technical skills to help solve complex issues and advise on how to configure our systems to drive customers to achieve their outcomes. You are used to working with our largest and more strategic customers and are comfortable with highly configured and integrated solutions. You strive to be the product expert including understanding the industry and have a strong motivation to continue to learn and grow. Day-to-day, you will: Customisation Specialist use your deep technical expertise to understand customers unique goals and provide tailored guidance to map out a clear path to assist customers in achieving their business objectives. This may include: • Create and maintain software products using established methodologies while utilizing a variety of programming and database languages. • Assist in developing tools to provide practical solutions to technical problems. • Contribute to the development of user and technical documentation for software products. • Provide technical assistance by debugging errors, resolving issues, and answering questions about the company’s software products. • Modify and maintain software products developed by external consultants. • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information. • Support the team with occasional after-hours assistance for business systems. • Customize booking engine solutions for clients, ensuring they meet business needs. • Personalize the booking engine by offering clients tailored recommendations and experiences that are not configurable in the CRS. • Customize guest portal personalization by providing tailored recommendations and experiences for Maverick Guest Portal users. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including implementations, support, DevOps, and project managers, to ensure the timely delivery of projects. • Develop and maintain JavaScript code to support client-side booking engine functionality. • Implement Google tracking and analytics to monitor user behavior and enhance booking engine performance. • Provide technical support to clients, the technical team, and the implementation team by troubleshooting issues as needed. Your skills and experiences might also include: • Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, or similar. • Familiarity with booking engine solutions and guest portal customization. • Knowledge of Google Analytics and tracking implementation. • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts effectively. • Good understanding of any of the following languages, products, or concepts: Apache, PHP, structured query language, HTML5, SASS/CSS, database design and modeling, ETL processes, stored procedures, cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, and administration of Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL. • A self-motivated mindset with a passion for learning and improving technical skills. • Prior experience in software development for hospitality or booking systems (a plus).
