As a Waiter/Waitress, you will provide exceptional dining service to our guests in a fine dining environment. You will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and pleasant experience for every guest, from greeting them to delivering their orders with efficiency and professionalism. A passion for hospitality, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are essential for this role.
THE JOBSCOPE
- Greet guests with a warm and friendly demeanor as they arrive at their table.
- Take and process food and beverage orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring special requests and dietary restrictions are noted.
- Offer recommendations on food and drink pairings, including wine, to enhance the guest experience.
- Serve food and beverages to guests with professionalism, ensuring presentation, temperature, and portion sizes are correct.
- Check on guests periodically to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and provide assistance as needed.
- Ensure tables are properly set, clean, and maintained throughout the meal service.
- Clear dishes and utensils in a timely manner, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the dining area.
- Reset tables efficiently between courses and after guests leave, ensuring readiness for the next seating.
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and wine list, to answer guest questions and make informed recommendations.
- Be aware of daily specials and promotions and be able to communicate them clearly to guests.
- Work closely with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure efficient service and a high-quality guest experience.
- Ensure that orders are entered correctly into the POS system and that guests’ requests are communicated effectively to the kitchen and bar staff.
- Accurately process payments using cash, credit cards, or other methods, and issue receipts as necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including food handling procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station and follow all safety protocols.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience as a waiter/waitress in a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of food and beverage service, including wine and cocktail pairings, is a plus.
- Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and patience.
- Proficiency with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling.
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
