The Assistant Manager IT will assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hotel technology, provide support to staff and guests, and manage IT-related projects. THE JOBSCOPE
- Provide day-to-day support for the hotel’s IT systems, including networks, servers, hardware, and software.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for hotel staff, guests, and departments, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Install and configure new computer systems, networks, and hardware components, as required.
- Perform regular software and hardware updates, system backups, and monitor performance to ensure uptime and stability.
- Assist with the management and maintenance of the hotel’s network infrastructure, ensuring all devices are connected, secure, and functioning properly.
- Ensure that the hotel’s Wi-Fi network is operating effectively for both guest and staff use.
- Monitor and protect the hotel’s IT infrastructure from cyber threats, including managing firewalls, antivirus software, and other security protocols.
- Assist with database management, user permissions, and system integration to streamline operations.
- Provide technical support to guests regarding hotel technology, including troubleshooting internet or TV issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure technology meets the expectations of guests and enhances their experience.
- Assist the IT Manager in managing and leading the hotel’s IT team, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Train hotel staff on the proper use of IT systems, software, and hardware, including troubleshooting common issues.
- Assist in the implementation of IT projects and initiatives, including upgrades, system migrations, or new technology installations.
- Collaborate with hotel management and other departments to identify technology needs and propose solutions to improve hotel operations.
- Assist in managing relationships with IT vendors and suppliers, including negotiating contracts, coordinating service agreements, and ensuring that IT equipment and software are delivered and installed on time.
- Coordinate with external IT support providers to resolve issues that require specialized knowledge or equipment.
REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of experience in IT support or a similar role, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, both remotely and on-site.
- Familiarity with hotel management systems (PMS), property management software, and guest-facing technology.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to assist non-technical staff and guests with IT-related issues.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
