Dean (Faculty of Medicine)

Job Descriptions: Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction for all Faculty of Medicine initiatives and programs to strengthen reputation across teaching excellence, research, clinical care, and community engagement. Oversee academic planning, policy development, and execution of initiatives to ensure the Faculty’s growth and success. Foster a culture of academic excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty and students within and outside the University. Lead curriculum development and ensure the delivery of high-quality medical education that meets accreditation standards. Support faculty and staff development, mentoring, and promotion to enhance teaching effectiveness and research capabilities. Ensure educational programs at all levels provide a positive learning experience and innovative educational opportunities to facilitate the transition from student to professional. Promote student recruitment, retention, and success by providing a supportive learning environment. Promote a culture of research and scholarly activity among faculty and students. Recruit, hire, and retain qualified faculty and staff to support the University’s mission and strategic priorities. Requirements: Possess a basic degree in MBBS and postgraduate qualification with any relevant specialization in medicine Minimum 15 years of teaching and ideally with clinical excellence in the relevant disciplines, of which 5 years holding an academic leadership position Demonstrates a high level of personal and professional integrity Good knowledge of MQA, MoHE and relevant professional body requirements Excellent organisational, leadership and communication skills are necessary
