English Teacher for International School Job Description / Responsibilities Organize classroom lectures and coursework Prepare materials and activities Assign homework and interesting exercises Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans Determine exam and assignment grades Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behavior Keep a record of students’ attendance and grades Prepare students for examinations (IPC / IGCSE / 'A' Levels) Research new language teaching methods Manage classroom crisis and resolve conflicts Inform parents about their children’s performance Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience Experience in the following is an advantage Teaching English Language and Literature from Years 7-13 Teaching A Level English Literature Teaching Academic English Using creative approaches in the classroom, including the use of new technologies to support learning Teaching high achieving students across all phases, and the ability to extend able students A willingness to take part in subject-related extracurricular after-school activities Experience of using Accelerated Reader Job Requirements • Minimum 5 years' experience as an English teacher in a National Curriculum of England based International School • Critical to have strong knowledge of teaching methods that is based on the Programs of Study for English in the National Curriculum of England • Critical to have deep understanding of the National Curriculum of England and English language requirements - International Primary Curriculum (IPC), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) and / or 'A' Levels • Exceptional organizational and communication skills • A patient and resilient personality • Dedication to students and education • Must have BSc/BA in English Language or English Literature; with UK PGCE, or other teaching qualification giving QTS; MSc is a plus
