Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up and prepare injection moulding machines for production runs, including installing moulds, configuring machine settings, and loading raw materials.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make necessary adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Perform start-up and shut-down procedures for injection moulding machines.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and resolve issues related to product defects, such as sink mark, flashing, or short shots.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to implement corrective actions and improve product quality.
- Process Optimization:
- Optimize moulding processes to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize material waste.
- Document process changes and maintain accurate records of machine settings and production data.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in safety training and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to achieve production goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in injection moulding setup and operation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting injection moulding machines; knowledge of moulding processes, materials, and tooling.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with team members and document processes.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy equipment, stand for extended periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
- The role typically involves working in a manufacturing or production facility.
- May require working in shifts, including nights and weekends, depending on production schedules.
