
Business Support Manager
Job description
The Business Support Manager will oversee and provide leadership for all backend support functions, with a primary focus on procurement and supply chain management. This role is critical to ensuring smooth operations, efficient purchasing, and optimal resource management across the supply chain. Additionally, the manager will support employee well-being, maintain a positive work environment, and ensure adherence to safety and compliance protocols.
Job Descriptions:
- Procurement and Supply Chain Management:
- Oversee, lead, coach, and collaborate with the procurement team to:
- Manage purchase orders, shipping matters, and maintain accurate purchase records.
- Compare and evaluate price, quality, and delivery schedules from vendors.
- Review product quality with feedback from end-users to ensure high standards.
- Prepare and analyze cost and quality reports on purchases.
- Compile and manage data to assess purchasing needs.
- Monitor stock levels, ensure optimal inventory levels, and place orders when necessary.
- Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve any discrepancies.
- Obtain and update market information for key inventory items, including suppliers.
- Plan and monitor both inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Oversee cross-border transportation arrangement, on transport documentation and customs clearance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable tax, customs, and regulatory requirements in the supply chain.
- Optimize supplier and vendor relationships for long-term cost-effective agreements.
- Periodically review and renegotiate key supplier agreements to secure better terms and conditions.
- Actively seek opportunities to reduce costs through better negotiations, identifying alternative suppliers, or leveraging bulk purchasing strategies.
- Identify and leverage applicable government grants or subsidies related to purchases.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions (e.g., shortages, transport delays) and ensure business continuity.
- Ensure procurement and supply chain activities meet the needs of internal stakeholders across the organization.
2. Backend Support Operations:
- Set up and enhance systems, policies, and SOPs for all backend support departments.
- Ensure continuous improvement across all operational activities.
- Promote efforts for innovation and operational enhancement in support departments.
3. Leadership & Compliance:
- Foster talent development within the team by mentoring staff and providing guidance to enhance their skills.
- Lead by example in promoting professionalism and strong corporate culture within the team.
- Ensure adherence to corporate compliance, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Provide regular updates to management on procurement, supply chain, and backend support matters.
4. Employee Well-being & Engagement:
- Provide support for mental health awareness and ensure the well-being of employees.
- Assist in organizing and manage employee engagement events (e.g., annual dinners, team-building activities, staff events).
- Foster positive employee relations, promoting a conducive and supportive work environment.
- Advocate adherence to office safety protocols and procedures.
5. Carry out any other tasks assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience.
- Extensive experience in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
Supplemental Pay:
- Performance bonus
