GroupM is looking for a talented SEO Manager to be based in Malaysia. You will handle overall SEO clients and ensure optimization of their SEO campaigns to attract and engage visitors that closely match the profile of the target audience.

Measures of success –

In three months:
  • Take the lead role in medium to large SEO projects work closely with client service team / lead to proactively account manage clients and develop integrated market and digital asset strategies for clients.
  • Support the management and accountability for the delivery of all SEO campaigns.
  • Know & become first point of escalation (internal & external) for all businesses.
In six months:
  • Equipped team to cater emerging offering such as web analytics as a service, tag management, mobile SEO, ASO, etc. to clients.
  • Ensured SEO Workflow, search engine algorithm & Commercial compliance.
  • Developed strategic relationships with some of our key clients.
  • Developed innovative new approaches and strategies to maximize clients’ website strategies success.
In 12 months:
  • Renewed SEO management campaigns for 100% of existing businesses.
  • Helped in growing business by 60%.
  • Educate internal teams and clients on SEO developments and the evolution of GroupM’s SEO offering.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Take the lead role in medium to large SEO projects work closely with client service team / lead to proactively account manage clients and develop integrated media strategies for clients.
  • Develop innovative new approaches and strategies to maximize clients’ website strategies success.
  • Review and implement strategic changes for SEO clients and team on an ongoing basis.
  • To manage the workload and training for individuals within your SEO team.
  • To test, understand and use GroupM’s proprietary software to create tracking and reporting solutions for our clients.
  • Utilise Google Analytics or any other third party software as a secondary or tertiary technology solutions.
  • Work with the wider MBA team to deliver integrated ideas and strategic responses.
  • Keyword and Competitor Research.
  • Create and optimise campaign strategies for clients.
  • Website audits and complete competitor analysis using a variety of tools.
  • Support the management and accountability for the delivery of all SEO campaigns.
  • Keep abreast of algorithm changes and the impact on clients’ SEO strategies.
  • Create and or update SEO product procedures where applicable & supporting documentation & keep this information updated as the market & technology changes.
  • Regularly report to the Head of Performance Marketing on project progress, 121 meetings, resources, costs, renewals & sales pipeline.
  • To keep up to date with the SEO industry changes & the latest practices & procedures for website optimisation & feed this information back into our products & our people.
  • Educate internal teams and clients on SEO developments and the evolution of GroupM’s SEO offering.
  • Overall management and accountability for the delivery of GroupM’s SEO campaigns / projects.
  • Regular client reporting.

What you will need:
  • A solid understanding and working knowledge of HTML, XML and Schema.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of web languages ie: PHP, ASP, .NET. CSS, JavaScript, MySQL Databases.
  • Working knowledge industry standard CMS systems (Magento, Adobe CQ5 etc.).
  • Demonstration of web standards (w3c).
  • Understanding of website architecture, link structure, Meta tags, keyword ratios, proper image optimization, and sitemaps.
  • Understanding of off-page asset analysis and backlink analysis utilizing proper research softwares.
  • Working knowledge of web server environments and Cpanel operations (Windows, Linux).
  • A creative and inquisitive mind, showcasing creative thinking to develop strong social/content idea strategies.
  • An excellent work ethic, problem solving and proficient time management skills.
  • The ability to collaborate and develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues around the business.
  • Awareness of content opportunities and developments around the industry utilizing proper research tools and the ability to share knowledge accordingly.
