A. Job Summary:
The intern will be responsible for the recording of all relevant transactions into the General Ledger and the bank reconciliation of your assigned accounts on a monthly basis. You will also support other finance operations by providing timely reporting as needed. This role interacts with a wide range of internal stakeholders including other internal finance teams, senior accountants, and local business finance leads.
In your day to day role, you will be expected to complete the appropriate actions for your ledger in a timely and accurate manner under supervision. You will also have the opportunity to assist in our standardization efforts, as we work towards consistent and consolidated processes and systems globally.
All the accounting activities carry out will be in accordance with established processes in compliance with the Company policies and procedures, audit requirements and internal controls, Service Level Agreement (SLA) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
B. Responsibilities:
Operations
- Ensure month end close tasks are executed in a timely manner and in accordance with established work procedures and month end close timelines.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of financial reports for corporate and local.
- Perform bank reconciliations, reconciling receipting/ payments to ensure the accounting system reflects the correct transactions in bank.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation of GL account balances. Investigate and follow up on unreconciled items and ensure timely resolution.
- Prepare and post journals relating to general ledger and bank.
- Identify and follow up on open items in a timely manner.
- Maintain general ledger, vendor, customer master data, etc.
- Perform control checks and ensure all transactions and month end activities are approved and processed completely, accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with SLAs and KPIs.
- Liaise with banks, local company, etc to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Attend to queries and ensure timely resolution. Escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner.
- Assist in preparing and updating work procedures and training materials, when required.
- Assist and support internal and statutory audits.
- Perform such other tasks as required by Senior Analyst/ Team Lead/ Team Manager.
C. Qualifications:
- Fresh Graduates with Diploma/ Degree in Accounting/ Finance or professional accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA or CPA).
D. Skills:
- MS Excel skills
- English written and verbal communication skills

Pay: RM900.00 - RM1,000.00 per month
