JOB DESCRIPTION – FACILITY & SERVICES/MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Basic Job Purpose

  • To be responsible for the management and operations of the Safety and housekeeping (services) department at Guardian Distribution Centre to support the DC in maintenance effectiveness and efficiency of all equipment and MHE in the premises.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes safety and housekeeping objectives, goals, processes, and plans in support of DC strategic directions.
  • Responsible for advice and counsel to management on their compliance to maintenance of equipment and MHE cleanliness of the premises.
  • Ability to conduct and support maintenance breakdown, investigations involving company personnel, assets and contractors and maintain the record and analysis of the record. Implement check on regular maintenance checklist of all equipment e.g., Air conditioner, repair and maintenance of fire door, proper charging of battery, blower MHE, Fire extinguishers, cobweb regular cleaning, hoist permit and suitability of operating, dock level, fans, high bay light, light, toilet and office, shutter door, racking and primary slot cleanliness. Including toilet, MHE training program, follow up recording, sprinkle valve system, tote box asset and repair, Walkie talkie, water cooler, with room, safe keeping of tools for maintenance, utility monitoring and control, training for MHE and battery charging, punch clock, rubbish disposal, painting of lines for walkways, emergency light and electrical wiring done by contractor.
  • Provide advice and counsel to management on the expenditures of resources for safety and housekeeping. Provide leadership, advice and counsel to all safety and housekeeping staff in achieving current and long-range strategic program objectives.
  • Daily monitors to make sure all staff comply with SOP requirements related to safety, housekeeping and security.
  • Investigate issues or any misconduct incidents, accidents, incidents, near misses or the like until a full report is completed.
  • Perform surprise checks during body, exit, entry, or personnel checks to check any suspicious items and ensure compliance with internal rules and regulations.
  • Check all safety equipment in good condition and service such as fire extinguishers, rose reels, first aid kits, emergency doors, alarms etc.
  • Brief new staff on rules and regulations within the DC.
  • Weekly safety briefing for reminders and awareness to all staff.
  • Conduct QC checking and study on how to improve checking efficiency

REQUIREMENT FOR FACILITY & SERVICES/MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

  • Candidate must possess at least a higher secondary/STPM/diploma, bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Required skills: MS Office, computer skills, leadership, management, analytical, and teamwork.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Able to work on the 3 shifts rotation with a 6 days per week including public holidays or weekend.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in a warehouse environment.
  • Required language: Bahasa Malaysia and English.

  • Team player, supportive and forthcoming in cooperation to the team lead and motivate a team of staff.
  • Preferably a Supervisor specializing in safety and health, maintenance, security, logistics or equivalent.
